Duties
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients by providing personalized insurance solutions tailored to their business needs.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of client accounts, including policy renewals, updates, and claims support.
- Conduct outside sales efforts to identify new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, and community engagement.
- Negotiate policy terms, coverage options, and pricing with clients and underwriters to secure favorable outcomes.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to promote insurance products via telemarketing campaigns and other outreach initiatives.
- Administer sales documentation and maintain accurate records using sales administration tools.
- Analyze client data and market trends to recommend appropriate coverage options and identify cross-selling opportunities.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries promptly, resolving issues efficiently, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Stay informed about industry regulations such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) where applicable, ensuring compliance across all client interactions.
- Support benefits administration for clients’ employee benefit plans when needed.
- Utilize multilingual or bilingual skills to communicate effectively with diverse client bases when applicable.
Experience
- Proven experience in insurance sales, particularly within commercial lines or retail sales environments.
- Demonstrated success in outside sales, negotiation, and customer relationship management.
- Strong analysis skills to interpret market data and client needs effectively.
- Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—to engage clients confidently across various channels.
- Familiarity with marketing strategies including telemarketing campaigns to generate leads and promote services.
- Experience in sales administration tasks such as documentation management and CRM systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of benefits administration processes is a plus.
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable for serving diverse customer populations.
