We are seeking a highly skilled IT Google Workspace Engineer to join our client s onsite IT Infrastructure team in Santa Clara, CA. The ideal professional will be an expert in Google Workspace administration, system engineering, automation, and enterprise-level migration projects. This role requires a hands-on technologist capable of independently driving initiatives, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing service reliability using automation and emerging AI-driven tools.

Google Workspace Administration
- Lead enterprise-level administration, configuration, and optimization of Google Workspace (formerly G Suite).
- Manage users, groups, org units, security settings, and Workspace integrations.
- Plan and execute full lifecycle migrations, including:
- Data transfer
- User provisioning
- Email routing
- Post-migration troubleshooting and support
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure zero business disruption.
- Work closely with IT Infrastructure teams to support backend systems, identity platforms, and collaboration tools.
- Use ServiceNow or other ITSM platforms for incident, problem, change, and request management.
- Apply foundational information security principles.
- Collaborate with security teams to enforce policies, monitor threats, and maintain compliance.
- Develop automation scripts using JavaScript, Python, or GAM to:
- Enhance productivity
- Reduce manual workload
- Improve service reliability
- Lead major incident response efforts, ensuring rapid diagnosis and restoration.
- Apply structured change management practices to minimize system risks and outages.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Work closely with product, engineering, and security teams to support business objectives.
- Independently define requirements, create project plans, and manage execution.
- Deliver end-to-end solutions with minimal supervision.
- Explore and adopt new AI-powered technologies and automation tools.
- Continuously improve operational workflows with innovative approaches.
Required Qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience as a Systems Engineer, IT Infrastructure Engineer, or Google Workspace Engineer.
- Deep hands-on experience managing Google Workspace in enterprise environments.
- Expertise in Microsoft 365 Google Workspace migration projects.
- Strong understanding of ITSM (ServiceNow preferred).
- Hands-on scripting skills: Python, JavaScript, GAM.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and able to manage complex projects independently.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and familiarity with security principles.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving technical environment.
