What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping/Documentation Specialist position at GLOBAL INC/SFC Valve Corporation?

OVERALL PURPOSE
This position is to provide support in the shipping/receiving and documentation area.
Work hours are Monday - Thursday 6:00am to 4:00pm.
Hiring wage is scaled to experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Creates shipping labels and handles shipping information.
2. Packages outgoing shipments IAW contract requirements.
3. Develops knowledge of standard clauses, coded notes, FAR clauses, commercial packaging practices and specifications specific to contract shipping requirements.
4. Develops knowledge with secure web-based system, IRAPT and Odyssey for electronic submittals.
5. Communicates with material handler about organization practices and shipments out of inventory.
6. Problem solves for customers and suppliers about shipping routes, delayed items, and rush orders.
7. Troubleshoots shipping issues and works to solve these administrative or organizational problems to increase efficiency.
8. Develops knowledge about carriers (i.e. USP Ground, USA Freight, FEDEX, etc.) and sea shipping regulations and practices.
9. Communicates with Production, Purchasing, QA, Receiving, and DCMA to ship orders on time.
10. Review and approve incoming certifications for accuracy, including but not limited, to comparing chemical and physical attributes of received certifications to known standards, resolving certification issues, recording heat traceability reports.
11. Prepare certification packages for outgoing shipments.
12. Maintain systems for certifications and related documents for storage and retrieval.
13. Interface with engineering and purchasing to assure that correct certifications and revisions are requested and received from vendors.
14. Contact vendors for acceptable material certifications. Can include visits, training and communication.
15. Perform other related duties as required.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
