Position Overview
Global Language System is seeking qualified and professional American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters to provide in-person interpretation services in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area. Interpreters will support communication between Deaf/Hard of Hearing individuals and hearing clients in a variety of settings including medical, educational, government, and community environments.

Position Overview
Global Language System is seeking qualified and professional American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters to provide in-person interpretation services in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area. Interpreters will support communication between Deaf/Hard of Hearing individuals and hearing clients in a variety of settings including medical, educational, government, and community environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and culturally appropriate ASL interpretation services
- Facilitate effective communication between Deaf/Hard of Hearing and hearing individuals
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics (RID Code of Professional Conduct)
- Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled assignments
- Adapt interpreting style to suit various settings (medical, legal, educational, business, etc.)
- Complete required documentation and reporting after assignments
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English
- RID Certification (NIC, CI/CT, or equivalent) preferred
- State of Minnesota interpreter certification (if applicable)
- Minimum of 1–2 years of professional interpreting experience
- Knowledge of Deaf culture and community
- Ability to pass background check (required for certain assignments)
- Experience in medical, legal, or educational interpreting
- National Interpreter Certification (NIC) or higher
- Availability for short-notice or emergency assignments
- Competitive hourly rates based on experience and certification
- Typical market range: $40 – $75 per hour (depending on credentials and assignment type)
- Travel reimbursement may be provided for certain assignments
