Global Group is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with strong DCAA compliance and government contracting experience to join our growing practice. This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who understands the complexities of working with government contractors and is able to ensure full compliance with DCAA, FAR, and related regulations while supporting accurate and strategic financial operations.
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in financial reporting, project-based accounting, and compliance oversight for government contractors. You will also lead the accounting team, supervise monthly accounting clients, and oversee the overall performance and operations of the accounting department. You will be responsible for maintaining compliant accounting systems, supporting audits, and advising on best practices to ensure readiness for DCAA reviews and government requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and perform advanced accounting functions including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and project-based accounting
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes with accuracy and efficiency
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, trial balances, and balance sheets
- Ensure compliance with DCAA requirements, FAR regulations, and other government contracting standards
- Set up and maintain DCAA-compliant accounting systems, including job costing and indirect rate structures
- Monitor and maintain timekeeping, expense tracking, and cost allocation systems in compliance with government standards
- Support DCAA audits, incurred cost submissions, and other government reviews
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and compliance risks
- Prepare and maintain documentation required for government contracts and audits
- Collaborate with leadership to support growth in the government contracting space
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff
- Participate in process improvements and implementation of best practices for government contracting clients
- Utilize advanced Excel for reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis
What We’re Looking For
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s degree preferred)
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong DCAA compliance experience
- Hands-on experience with government contracting accounting
- Deep understanding of FAR regulations, indirect rates, job costing, and cost structures
- Experience supporting DCAA audits and compliance reviews
- Advanced Excel skills
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail with a compliance-focused mindset
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred / Plus:
- Experience working with small to mid-sized government contractors
- CPA license is a plus
- Forensic accounting knowledge is a plus
- Tax knowledge is a plus
