Role Description
We’re looking for a Benefits Account Manager to join our Benefits Team and support employer groups across both fully-insured and self-funded health plans. In this role, you’ll collaborate with the account team to manage renewals, deliver strategic analysis, support day-to-day client operations, and ensure exceptional service across all benefit programs.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as a key client contact for benefit questions, eligibility, billing, and claims escalations
- Maintain strong client and carrier relationships to support retention and service delivery
- Coordinate plan implementations, renewals, eligibility feeds, and vendor/carrier issue resolution
- Support development of presentations such as plan modeling, utilization reporting and more
- Assist with open enrollment planning, communication materials, and employee support.
- Manage ongoing account maintenance, including plan documents, SBCs, and contract updates
- Stay aware of compliance considerations (ACA, ERISA, COBRA) and help clients understand key requirements
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 4 years of benefits analyst or benefits account management experience
- Illinois Life and Health Insurance License (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Strong knowledge of fully insured Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability plans; self-funded knowledge not required but strongly recommended
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to self-manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently, while collaborating with internal and external partners
