What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Control Specialist position at GLOBAL FOODS MARKET?
Global Foods Market is a locally owned grocery store located in Kirkwood, Missouri. We are currently implementing company wide process improvements and working towards a perpetual inventory system. The role of the Inventory Control Specialist is integral to the success of the project.
When the store receives a shipment of products the stockers check in the order by marking off the paper invoices, noting any discrepancies. Once the invoice has been checked in, it will be passed along to the IC Specialist to reconcile the received quantities on paper with the ordered quantities inside our inventory ordering system. Once the invoice has been fully processed, the IC Specialist will scan and upload the invoice to the Cloud, then file the physical copy.
This is a rare opportunity to take a brand new position at a close knit business and make it your own. You will work directly with the technology team, owners, buyers, and stockers. You will be encouraged to problem solve and create a workflow that best suits you.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Communicate with inventory buyers and stockers to ensure items are received correctly
- Translate paper copies of received invoices into data that can be uploaded
- Execute stock audits and system updates for incoming inventory
- Perform routine inventory maintenance functions to ensure the ongoing accuracy of shelf counts.
