Job Summary
The project superintendent is a key representative of Frank Rewold and Sons Inc., acts as the site responsible person, and is responsible to plan, direct, and manage all field activities on the site. Superintendents are expected to enforce design details, organize, and control the subcontractors, pursue a safe aggressive schedule, and they have the authority make schedule adjustments as required. The site superintendent provides guidance, direction, and input to owners/owner’s representatives. In addition to exercising discretion, they make project decisions and have authority over site contractors.
Duties/Responsibilities:
§ Maintains authority to interpret the requirements of the drawings and specifications of the project
§ Day-by-day on-site supervision, coordination, and control for all operations
§ Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations
§ Maintain the quality of work expected on Rewold projects
§ Keep project manager apprised of field activities
§ Communicate with project manager, project engineer, and accountant as a team
§ Post emergency numbers, permit copies, and informational posters in field office
§ Provide input with MOP meeting, agenda, specific site safety, and quality items
§ Create critical path schedule and keep updated
§ Schedule routine meetings and write agendas
§ Hold toolbox talks
§ Hold scheduled quality audits with documentation
§ Secure rough and final inspections by municipal agencies
§ Schedule testing(s) required by engineering firms (concrete, soil bearing capacity, steel, etc.)
§ Prepare documentation (site specific safety plans, Daily Reports, Report of Contacts, accident, back charges, supplies & material used on site, field changes, etc.)
§ Responsible for jobsite records, including shop drawings, MSDS Sheets, approved COs, owner/architect requests/sub and, RFIs)
§ Control, improve, maintains costs
§ Avoid schedule delays and seek innovative ways to advance or improve progress schedule
§ Keep jobsite clean daily
§ Secure site and signage
§ Complete punch list prior to owner occupancy
§ Turn over all items of stock to owner
§ Weekends or long days might be required if project is at a critical stage or has specific needs
§ Any other duties needed to help achieve the FRS Vision, fulfill our mission, and abide by the organization’s values
Required Skills/Training:
§ MIOSHA 30 hours
§ CPR/first aid
- Ability to interpret design/drawings from architects
- Proficient using Microsoft Word and Excel
Education and Experience:
§ bachelor’s degree in construction management or equivalent experience
- Minimum five years’ experience in construction
Salary Range: 90,000 to 130,000
Salary : $90,000 - $130,000
