An Electrical Testing Technician is responsible for performing electrical tests on various electronic components to ensure their quality, reliability, and performance. They work under the supervision of engineers to conduct tests according to established procedures and standards.
RESPONSIBILITES:
o Set up and configure test equipment and fixtures for conducting electrical tests on electronic components, ensuring accuracy and compliance with testing standards.
o Perform electrical tests on electronic components using predefined test procedures and protocols, ensuring accuracy and consistency in test results.
o Record test data accurately and promptly using measurement tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators, documenting measurements and observations for analysis.
o Ensure that tests are conducted in compliance with quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements, maintaining high standards of accuracy and reliability in test results.
o Troubleshoot electrical issues or anomalies encountered during testing, diagnosing problems and collaborating with engineers to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
o Perform routine maintenance and calibration of test equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of measurements, following manufacturer's guidelines and maintenance schedules.
o Operate testing equipment safely and efficiently, following operating procedures and safety guidelines to minimize risks of electrical hazards and equipment damage.
o Document test procedures, results, and observations in test logs, worksheets, or electronic databases, maintaining clear and organized records for future reference and analysis.
o Handle electronic components with care to prevent damage or contamination, following proper ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) precautions and handling procedures to ensure component integrity.
o Perform routine maintenance tasks on testing equipment, such as cleaning, calibration checks, and basic troubleshooting, to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
o Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for electrical testing processes, following established protocols to maintain consistency and reliability in test results.
o Assist engineers in conducting root cause analysis of electrical failures or issues encountered during testing, providing input and supporting investigations to determine underlying causes.
o Assist in conducting electrical tests under various environmental conditions (e.g., temperature, humidity, vibration) to evaluate component performance and reliability in different operating environments.
o Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and other team members to report test results, share information, and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues or challenges encountered during testing.
o Identify opportunities for process improvement in testing methodologies, equipment setup, or workflow procedures, proposing suggestions for enhancements to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
o Participate in training sessions or workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge related to electrical testing techniques, equipment operation, and safety practices.
o Perform other duties as assigned by manager and/or supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic understanding of electrical principles and circuits.
- Familiarity with measurement tools and equipment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in recording data.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computers skills, e.g. Word and Excel.
- Basic knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Dependable and reliable.
- Able to meet attendance and punctuality standards. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Due to applicable laws and contractual requirements, this role is restricted to U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents (green card holders).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Education: General Education Degree required. – High school diploma or equivalent. Associate in Engineering or related field a plus.
- Experience: 1 to 2 years in an Electronics/Manufacturing environment preferred, and inspector/operator experience a plus.
