Paramedic — Advanced Life Support Ambulance Services

Global EMS & Rescue is seeking qualified, dependable New York State Certified Paramedics to provide Advanced Life Support ambulance service staffing in St. Lawrence County, New York.

We are looking for professionals who take pride in patient care, operational readiness, teamwork, and accountability. Successful candidates will respond to emergency calls, deliver appropriate assessment and treatment, and support safe patient transport within our contracted service areas and through mutual aid responses.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to 911 calls and mutual aid requests, providing professional and compassionate emergency medical care.
• Perform patient assessments, identify treatment priorities, and provide Advanced Life Support care within your authorized scope of practice and applicable protocols.
• Administer medications, perform authorized procedures, and monitor patients throughout treatment and transport.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, dispatchers, medical control, receiving hospitals, and other emergency responders.
• Operate ambulances and other authorized emergency vehicles safely, following traffic laws, training, and company policies.
• Complete accurate and timely electronic patient care reports and required operational documentation.
• Conduct beginning-of-shift inspections of ambulances, medical equipment, medications, and supplies.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and response-ready ambulances; complete cleaning and decontamination after patient encounters.
• Promptly report equipment defects, safety concerns, incidents, and operational issues.
• Participate in training, competency assessments, quality improvement activities, and performance reviews.
• Maintain professional conduct, patient confidentiality, and respectful working relationships.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must possess and maintain:

• Valid New York State Paramedic certification.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable for company vehicle operation and insurance requirements.
• Approved Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) certificate and the ability to safely operate emergency vehicles.

Candidates must also demonstrate:

• Sound clinical judgment and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to maintaining ambulance readiness.
• Ability to perform essential patient care duties, including lifting, moving, and transporting patients with appropriate equipment and assistance.
• Ability to meet applicable credentialing and onboarding requirements before assignment.
• Maintain a professional appearance and wear issued uniform items.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience providing ALS care in a 911 ambulance setting.
• Experience working with rural communities and mutual aid systems.
• Familiarity with electronic patient care reporting, radio communications, and ambulance operations.

Working Environment

This position involves ambulance-based emergency response and patient transport. Duties may take place indoors, outdoors, in adverse weather, and in physically demanding or unpredictable environments. Scheduling may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on operational needs.

Pay: $38.00 - $42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12.0 – 60.0 per week
