POSITION SUMMARY:
The Case Worker is responsible for providing direct support to local businesses participating in GEM's Business Rebuild Program. This role focuses on assessing business needs, developing recovery plans, coordinating referrals, and guiding businesses through reopening and long-term stabilization following a community crisis. Case Workers serve as the primary point of contact for program participants and ensure all services provided align with grant requirements, community needs, and GEM's standards for high-quality case management.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Case Management & Business Support:
Manage a caseload of up to 25 businesses at a time, providing individualized support throughout the recovery and reopening process.
Conduct needs assessments to determine business challenges, resource gaps, and priority areas for recovery.
Develop customized Business Recovery Plans in collaboration with owners, outlining goals, timelines, and required resources.
Provide follow-up support to monitor progress, adjust recovery plans, and ensure timely referrals.
Assist businesses in navigating available local, state, federal, and nonprofit resources.
Referrals & Resource Coordination:
Identify relevant partner organizations, funding opportunities, and technical assistance providers.
Coordinate referrals and ensure that businesses receive appropriate services and follow-up support.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of available resources within Kerr County and the broader region.
Data Management & Reporting:
Maintain accurate case files, notes, and documentation in alignment with GEM's data standards and audit requirements.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report progress, challenges, and outcomes to the Case Worker Supervisor.
Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly updates for internal reporting and grant compliance.
Community Engagement & Outreach:
Build trusting, respectful relationships with local business owners and community stakeholders.
Participate in outreach efforts to identify and enroll eligible businesses into the program.
Represent GEM professionally at community meetings and partner events when requested.
Program Support & Coordination:
Collaborate closely with the Case Worker Supervisor and fellow Case Workers to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
Follow established SOPs, program guidelines, and workflows to maintain program quality and compliance.
Provide feedback on program processes and suggest ideas for strengthening service delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Social Work, Emergency Management, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
Experience supporting small businesses, providing case management, or working in disaster recovery, economic development, or community services preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with business owners and community partners.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple cases simultaneously.
Ability to document cases clearly and accurately, with familiarity in using case management systems or CRM platforms.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to provide practical, resource-driven solutions for businesses facing challenges.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting needs and priorities.
