Duties
- Develop and implement transportation strategies that align with organizational goals, focusing on efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Assist in analysis of performance data & key trend issues; make recommendations.
- Lead and train transportation staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Implement strategies for continuous improvement of quality issues across all departments.
- Monitor key performance indicators such as delivery times, fuel consumption, and driver performance; analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory standards related to transportation operations.
- Prepare reports on transportation performance for senior management and recommend process improvements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in transportation management.
- Strong knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), routing software, and fleet management tools.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- In-depth understanding of safety regulations, DOT compliance, and industry best practices.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with internal teams, external vendors, and senior leadership.
