GHG is looking for a Dentist to provide on-site dental services for the inmates housed at the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons, located at the Federal Correctional Institution in Terminal island, California.

FCI TERMINAL ISLAND
FEDERAL CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION

Facility Information: The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Terminal Island, California, is a low security facility housing male inmates. FCI Terminal Island is located at the entrance to the Los Angeles Harbor, between San Pedro and Long Beach off Harbor Freeway (110 South) at the Terminal Island exit.
Judicial District: Central California.
Basic Scope of Work: The Dentist will help inmates in attaining and maintaining optimal dental health by providing dental services, to include promotion, prevention, assessment, intervention, and treatment with follow up care.
Work Schedule: The contractor will normally provide eight (1) hour sessions per day, 5 days per week, excluding Federal Holidays. Work hours will normally be between [07:00-3:30 PM] with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. These hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the institution. The contractor shall not normally exceed 40 hours per week.
Due to the nature of the correctional setting, delays in performance of work may be expected. Such delays may include but are not limited to inclement weather, fog, electrical or mechanical problems or other security matters. If the Dentist is not authorized entry because of an institution crisis, fog or other unusual circumstance, the Government’s liability will be limited to a one (1) hour drive time for the day the circumstance occurred.
Description of Duties
The contractor will provide services, professional in nature, in the method as considered normal in the local community and in accordance with Joint Commission standards and Bureau of Prison policies. The performance of these services will also be verified by the designated COR.
The Contractor will generally work under the supervision of the staff Dentist; however, may be required to work under the supervision of the Clinical Director or a BOP mid-level practitioner.
The Contractor will be responsible for personal health care needs and costs associated with exposure, or possible exposure to any blood borne pathogen or other risk encountered during performance of this contract.
The contractor shall provide the following Dental Hygienist services, which include, but are not limited to, the items listed below.
The Contractor is required to be certified/licensed as a Dental Hygienist in the State of
California and must submit photocopies of their license and/or board certification, three letters of references from professional peers and sign a consent for release of information for verification of credentials along with their quote. Dental radiology certification and anesthesia certification required. Also, a minimum of three years of experience preferred.

- Provide thorough individualized oral hygiene instructions to each patient
- Monitor oral hygiene and periodontal condition on each patient seen for dental prophylaxis
- Complete necessary dental x-rays as specified by the dentist
- Sterilize instruments used for prophylaxis and other instruments as specified by the dental staff
- Perform necessary paperwork related to scheduling patients for dental prophylaxis as directed by the dental staff
