What you'll do
Work side-by-side with the manufacturing supervisor to coordinate daily production. You'll remove sharp edges and deliver consistent surface finishes on machined parts using sanders, grinders, and specified hand tools. You will ensure standardized deburring practices are followed, quality targets are achieved, and work is completed safely and on time.
Your impact
- Lead by example—support teammates and foster a collaborative environment.
- Execute deburring on simple to highly complex parts within established parameters, minimizing scrap and meeting output goals.
- Plan and select the right deburring tools and methods; interpret finish specifications, process drawings, routings, and travelers.
- Deploy the full range of deburring equipment and hand tools to ensure every part meets or exceeds expectations.
- Trace issues to their root cause and drive corrective actions to closure.
- Read/interpret engineering drawings and finish specifications with precision.
- Keep the workspace spotless—sweep, organize, and maintain 5S standards.
- Champion lean/continuous improvement to enhance safety, quality, and throughput.
- Identify unsafe conditions and maintain a safe work environment.
- Capture data accurately and complete all required documentation.
- Adhere to the Quality Management System in full.
- Distribute work evenly across the team; ensure jobs meet schedule commitments.
- Take on other assignments as needed.
What you bring
- Comfort with deburring/finishing and precision measuring tools (preferred, not required).
- Ability to read, write, and understand technical documentation; computer literate; able to read process drawings/blueprints.
- Physical capability for routine and heavy tasks; full range of motion.
- 3–5 years of grinding experience in a precision manufacturing setting preferred.
- Knowledge of GD&T.
