What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deburring Finisher Lead position at Global Contract Manufacturing?
The Deburring Finisher Lead will work with the manufacturing supervisor on day-to-day production activities to manage the team. He/she will assist removing sharp edges and preparing uniform finishes on machined parts with sanders, grinders, and specified hand tools. He/she will ensure the proper deburring techniques are followed and acceptable levels of quality and productivity are met within established parameters while working in a safe and effective manner.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Contributes to team effort in a collaborative and supportive manner.
Performs deburring operations on a large variety of parts at times with high levels of complexity, ensuring the operation is performed within established parameters, minimal scrap, and acceptable levels of output.
Plan deburring technique using proper tools, and produces parts within established finish specifications, specifications at acceptable levels of production, which includes the reading and interpretation of process drawing, routings, and travelers.
Use a full range of deburring equipment and hand tools in support of daily output on specific materials ensuring that 100% of parts produced meet or exceed expectations.
Trace any problem source(s) and ensuring proper corrective action(s) are taken to resolve detected problems.
Reads and interprets a variety finish specifications and engineering drawings.
Ensures that proper housekeeping is maintained including sweeping and clean up in and round her/his area of responsibility.
Performs continuous improvement (lean) activities as needed.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment including identification of unsafe conditions.
Complete related documentation and shop floor data collection accurately.
Adhere to all aspects of the Quality Management System.
Ensures work load is evenly distributed to the team, and jobs are completed on time.
Performs other duties and assignments as needed.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Must be over 18 years of age and authorized to work in US.
Solid understanding and ability to use deburring and finishing tools and precision measuring tools is a plus but not required.
Must be able to read, write, and understand technical documentation, computer literate, read process drawing (blueprints).
Physically able to perform routine and heavy tasks with full range of motion.
3-5 years grinding experience in a precision manufacturing environment preferred.
GD&T knowledge.
