Job Title: Vehicle Driver & Test Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a Vehicle Driver & Test Technician to support vehicle testing and validation activities in Michigan. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating test vehicles, executing prescribed driving routes and test procedures, collecting test data, and reporting vehicle performance issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate prototype, development, and production vehicles during testing activities.
- Execute vehicle test procedures, drive cycles, road tests, and validation routes.
- Support functional, performance, durability, and system-level vehicle testing.
- Monitor vehicle behavior and identify abnormal conditions, faults, or performance issues.
- Record test results, observations, mileage, environmental conditions, and vehicle issues accurately.
- Work with engineers and test teams to reproduce and document vehicle concerns.
- Perform pre-test and post-test vehicle inspections and verify basic vehicle readiness.
- Use basic diagnostic and test equipment as required.
- Follow all company safety procedures, testing protocols, and Michigan road regulations.
- Maintain accurate test logs and communicate test results to engineering teams.
- Support testing at proving grounds, public roads, test tracks, and laboratory facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Previous professional driving, vehicle testing, automotive technician, or validation experience preferred.
- Ability to safely operate vehicles for extended periods and under varying road conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed test procedures.
- Basic understanding of automotive systems and vehicle operation.
- Ability to document test results clearly and accurately.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automotive vehicle testing or validation.
- Experience driving prototype or development vehicles.
- Familiarity with CAN, CANalyzer, CANoe, or vehicle diagnostic tools is a plus.
- Experience with data acquisition systems and test instrumentation is preferred.
- Automotive technical education or equivalent hands-on experience.
Work Environment
- Testing may be performed on public roads, test tracks, proving grounds, and customer/engineering facilities throughout Michigan.
- The role may require flexible working hours, extended driving periods, and occasional outdoor testing under different weather conditions.
- Strict adherence to vehicle safety and testing procedures is required.
