This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with deep expertise in analog electronics, embedded hardware, and power conversion technologies who can make an immediate impact with minimal onboarding.

The products under development are audio amplification systems used in alarm and life-safety applications. While prior audio industry experience is not required, candidates should possess strong fundamentals in analog circuit design, power electronics, hardware debugging, and performance optimization.

Project Details

  • Development of two amplifier platforms:
  • 50W Single-Channel Amplifier
  • 100W Multi-Channel Amplifier
  • Input Voltage: 24V
  • Switchable Output Voltage: 25V–70V
  • Designs are completed and currently in first-round prototype testing
  • Remaining development effort focused on:
  • Performance optimization
  • Distortion reduction
  • Efficiency improvements
  • Reliability validation

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and improve analog and embedded hardware designs at the schematic level
  • Troubleshoot and debug prototype hardware in laboratory environments
  • Design, evaluate, and optimize DC-DC power converter circuits
  • Analyze power converter topologies and recommend design improvements
  • Investigate and resolve distortion, efficiency, and reliability issues
  • Support hardware validation, verification, and qualification testing
  • Utilize oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and related test equipment for debugging and analysis
  • Review amplifier circuits, isolation barriers, relay circuits, and power subsystems
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve technical challenges
  • Document test procedures, results, root-cause analyses, and design modifications
  • Contribute to additional embedded hardware development activities as required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Senior-level experience in analog electronics and embedded hardware design
  • Strong background in power electronics and power conversion systems
  • Hands-on experience designing and troubleshooting DC-DC converters
  • Solid understanding of power converter topologies and their applications
  • Experience working with high-voltage, low-power electronic systems
  • Ability to perform detailed schematic reviews and design analysis
  • Extensive laboratory experience with hardware debugging and validation
  • Proficiency using oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads, power supplies, and related test equipment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with isolated and advanced power converter architectures
  • Knowledge of distortion analysis and performance optimization techniques
  • Exposure to audio, amplification, or signal-processing-related products
  • Experience supporting multiple embedded hardware projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity with product development from prototype through production

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on senior engineer who thrives in a laboratory environment, has strong analog and power electronics expertise, and can quickly contribute to resolving complex hardware challenges. This role requires an individual contributor who can independently drive technical solutions while collaborating effectively with the broader engineering team.
