Role: Mechanical Design Engineer – Automotive (CATIA & AutoForm)

Job Summary
Seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in automotive product development, CATIA V5/V6, sheet metal design, and AutoForm simulation. Responsible for developing automotive components, 3D modeling, tooling feasibility, and supporting vehicle development activities from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities
Develop 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using CATIA V5/V6.
Design automotive components such as BIW parts, trims, brackets, panels, and assemblies.
Perform sheet metal feasibility and forming analysis using AutoForm.
Support stamping die development and manufacturing processes.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including styling, manufacturing, suppliers, and quality.
Ensure designs meet cost, quality, weight, manufacturability, and safety targets.
Conduct design validation and engineering change management.
Prepare BOM, GD&T drawings, and engineering documentation.
Support prototype development and production activities.
Analyze and resolve design and manufacturing issues.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals.
Hands-on experience with CATIA V5/V6 for 3D modeling and drafting.
Experience in AutoForm simulation and sheet metal forming analysis.
Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes.
Understanding of GD&T, DFM, DFA, and tolerance stack-up.
Familiarity with BIW, interior/exterior trim, or chassis components.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering.
Experience in automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier environment.
Knowledge of PLM tools (Teamcenter / 3DX / ENOVIA).
Experience with stamping tools and die processes.
Basic understanding of CAE/FEA tools.
