Job Description:
As a Sr. Embedded Software Test Engineer, you will define, develop, and execute manual and automated test procedures for low-power, high-reliability industrial process control devices. You will work closely with firmware, electrical, and mechanical engineers to ensure quality and efficiency across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop automated test frameworks to improve efficiency and test coverage
- Write and execute manual and automated test procedures
- Log, track, and investigate defects to determine root cause
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Firmware, Electrical, Mechanical) in an Agile environment
- Maintain a backlog of test activities, ensuring timely delivery of quality products
- Monitor, debug, and enhance automated test infrastructure
- Perform project documentation aligned with departmental and company standards
- Read, interpret, and implement engineering/industry standards
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7 years in Embedded Development and/or Embedded Test Development
- Proficiency in C# with working knowledge of C/C
- Knowledge of software test methodologies: regression, functional, unit, black box, white box, etc.
- Basic knowledge of electrical schematics and circuit analysis
- Ability to work with mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic systems
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Team-oriented mindset with effective communication
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with industrial control systems/process control environments
- Familiarity with distributed version control (Git, Mercurial)
- Exposure to Continuous Integration (CI) tools (TeamCity, Jenkins)
- Experience with ARM embedded platforms
- Hands-on with test equipment: National Instruments (NI), data acquisition, power supplies, etc.
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols: HART, Modbus, Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus, Industrial Ethernet
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
