Information Technology Field Technician

Global Computer Systems (GCS) is a managed service provider based in Port Jefferson, NY. We support small and mid-sized businesses across the greater New York metro area with infrastructure management, end-user support, and cybersecurity services.

We're looking for a Field Technician based in New York City to serve as our boots-on-the-ground resource for client dispatches across the five boroughs, Westchester, Long Island, and northern New Jersey. When you're not in the field, you'll be part of our help desk team handling tickets and client calls remotely.

This is a great fit if you have 2-3 years of MSP experience and enjoy variety.

What You'll Be Doing

• Traveling to client sites for hardware installs, break/fix support, and on-site troubleshooting
• Supporting end users remotely via tickets and phone when not dispatched
• Managing Windows desktops, Microsoft 365, and Office applications
• Supporting macOS users and managing Apple devices through Jamf Pro
• Handling account provisioning, onboarding/offboarding, and Active Directory/Entra ID tasks
• Documenting everything clearly
• Providing on-site support for clients 2-3 days per week

What We're Looking For

• 2-3 years working at a managed service provider, or relevant internal role
• Solid Windows desktop and Microsoft 365 support experience
• Comfortable with macOS and Jamf Pro
• Strong communicator, Presentable, Strong In-Person Presence
• Must live in NYC and be available for field dispatches
• On-call availability on a rotating basis

Preferred Technical Exposure

• Microsoft Azure (Entra ID, M365 — any level of exposure)
• Windows Server
• NinjaRMM or similar RMM tools
• Jamf or other MDM Tools
• CrowdStrike or similar EDR platforms

Certifications (Preferred)

CompTIA A , Microsoft MS-900 or MD-102, Apple ACSP, or Jamf Certified

Compensation & Perks

• $28.85 - $33.65/hr based on experience
