Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Elevator Mechanic to join our industrial maintenance team. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on elevator systems, including hydraulic, traction, and machine-room-less models.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control system issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and precision measuring instruments such as ammeters and ohmmeters.
- Repair or replace elevator components including motors, controllers (programmable logic controllers), safety devices, doors, and control panels.
- Conduct testing of high voltage and low voltage electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Use field service techniques to diagnose problems with elevator systems in manufacturing facilities or commercial buildings.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Follow all safety protocols related to working with high voltage systems, welding (including
welding), hydraulics, HVAC/R systems, and industrial mechanics. - Assist with installation projects by interpreting schematics and performing precise mechanical work with tools such as welding equipment and precision measuring instruments.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about repair needs and system performance.
- Support emergency repairs promptly to minimize downtime in critical manufacturing or industrial environments.
Experience
- Proven industrial mechanic experience within manufacturing facilities or similar environments.
- Strong electrical experience with knowledge of industrial electrician practices, high voltage systems, low voltage controls, and troubleshooting tools like ammeters and ohmmeters.
- Hands-on experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in elevator control systems.
- Familiarity with CMMS software for maintenance scheduling and record keeping.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, HVAC/R systems, welding techniques (including
welding), schematics interpretation, and mechanical assembly. - Experience working on elevators or similar lifting equipment in a field service capacity is highly desirable.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Excellent analysis skills for diagnosing complex mechanical or electrical issues efficiently.
