Position Overview:
The United States of Africa (USAF) is seeking a proactive and resourceful Grants Researcher to support its mission of driving sustainable development, innovation, and economic growth across the continent. This role involves identifying local and international funding opportunities, analyzing grant requirements, and providing strategic input for high-impact proposals in collaboration with USAF departments and partners.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify and evaluate grant funding opportunities from international agencies, governments, foundations, and corporate sponsors.
• Conduct thorough research on funding trends and align opportunities with USAF programs and priorities.
• Develop and maintain a funding calendar to ensure timely application submissions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather relevant information for proposals.
• Provide summaries and strategic recommendations on suitable grants.
• Support grant writing and documentation as needed to strengthen applications.
• Track and monitor ongoing grant applications, reporting deadlines, and compliance requirements.
• Build and maintain a database of funding sources and donor relationships.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Public Administration, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in grants research, proposal development, or donor relations.
• Strong understanding of development funding mechanisms across Africa and globally.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and deadline-driven focus.
• Experience using online grant platforms and databases.
• Commitment to the vision and goals of the United States of Africa.
Preferred Experience:
• Familiarity with multilateral institutions (e.g., AfDB, UN, EU, USAID) and philanthropic funding sources.
• Previous work experience in a pan-African or international development organization.
• Knowledge of grant compliance and reporting processes.
