Our Mission
Our goal is to assist customers with PennDOT’s inspection procedures while serving the best interests of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We specialize in Enhanced Vehicle Safety Inspections for branded titles, as well as mandatory annual Safety and Emission Inspections.
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Inspector to conduct comprehensive vehicle assessments. You will be responsible for detecting damage, identifying missing parts, and diagnosing mechanical issues to ensure compliance with state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment: Conduct thorough inspection reports on incoming vehicles to detect damage, missing parts, and mechanical issues.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed, computer-generated reports accurately reflecting the vehicle’s condition.
- Maintenance: Maintain property, diagnostic equipment, and shop tools in good working condition.
- General Tasks: Perform semi-skilled and unskilled automotive tasks as needed to ensure efficient shop flow.
Professional Requirements:
- ASE Certifications: Valid certification in at least one of the following: A4, A5, B3, B4, B5, or B6.
- PennDOT Certified Emission: Inspector or Repair Technician (A8).
- PennDOT Certified Safety: Mechanic Class 1, 4, 5, or 7.
- PennDOT Certified Enhanced Safety: Category 4 (Class J)
- Personal: Valid Driver’s License and personal professional tools.
- Vetting: Must provide a 5-year clean driving history, pass a Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) background check, and pass a drug screening.
Schedule & Compensation:
- Hours: Monday – Friday (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM) and Saturday (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM).
- Commitment: 40 hours per week (Saturdays included).
- Salary: $31,200 – $41,600 per year
