In this role, you will:
- Lead a dynamic portfolio of real estate-focused clients, including developers, property owners, and real estate investment entities, delivering tailored tax planning and compliance services.
- Oversee all phases of complex real estate tax engagements—from entity structuring to cost segregation studies—ensuring timely, accurate, and strategic outcomes.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, maintaining open communication and offering proactive insights on industry developments and tax strategies.
- Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery, streamline processes, and strengthen the firm’s real estate tax capabilities.
- Guide, mentor, and develop junior and mid-level team members, fostering their technical expertise and leadership potential.
- Manage engagement economics, including budgeting, billing, and profitability tracking.
- Play a key role in market growth through community involvement and strategic business development activities in the Bluffton and greater Lowcountry region.
- Stay current with federal, state, and local tax regulations, with a focus on those impacting the real estate sector.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
- Active CPA license (required)
- 10 years of progressive public accounting experience with a strong emphasis on real estate tax matters (including partnerships, REITs, and real estate-specific deductions and credits)
- Deep knowledge of real estate transactions, 1031 exchanges, and entity structuring
- Strong leadership and people development skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and lead high-performing teams
