Role Description
The Fiber Optic Splicer position is a full-time, on-site role based in St. Clairsville, OH. The individual in this role will perform fiber splicing and maintenance, install and troubleshoot fiber optic cables, and undertake structured cabling projects. Additional tasks include working with hand tools, reading and interpreting schematics, ensuring proper cable configurations, and maintaining adherence to safety standards during all work activities.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in working with fiber optic cables and general cabling for installation and maintenance.
- Understanding of structured cabling systems and configurations.
- Knowledge of electricity and its applications within fiber optic systems.
- Experience using various hand tools for splicing and cabling tasks.
- Familiarity with safety standards related to working with fiber optic systems and electrical components.
- Ability to work on-site and utilize troubleshooting skills effectively.
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or certifications in related fields are a plus.
- Experience in telecommunications or a similar field is advantageous but not mandatory.
