Position Overview
Glisson Law is seeking a motivated and experienced plaintiff Trial Attorney to join our growing team and play a key role in advancing complex injury cases from intake through resolution. This position is designed for an attorney who is not only capable of independently managing a full caseload, but who also brings a strategic, trial-focused mindset to every stage of litigation.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable stepping into complex cases, identifying key liability theories, shaping discovery, and building compelling damages narratives that position cases for maximum recovery—whether through settlement or trial. You will be expected to take ownership of your files while working closely with our partners on case strategy, especially in high-exposure matters.
This role offers significant hands-on litigation experience, including direct client interaction, depositions, motion practice, negotiations, and courtroom advocacy. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of cases, many of which involve substantial damages and complex legal issues.
Because we are a plaintiff-focused firm that prepares every case as if it will go to trial, this position is best suited for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and confident in high-pressure situations. Prior experience in personal injury litigation is preferred
Prior experience in personal injury litigation is preferred and will allow you to immediately contribute to our high-volume caseload and specialized focus at our firm.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of personal injury matters from pre-litigation through trial
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and discovery
- Take and defend depositions, including expert witnesses
- Handle court appearances, hearings, mediations, and trials
- Develop case strategy and evaluate liability and damages
- Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and guidance
- Collaborate with partners and staff to drive case success
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice in Illinois and/or Missouri (IL required; both preferred)
- 5-10 years of litigation experience (plaintiff personal injury experience strongly preferred)
- Proven ability to manage cases independently
- Trial experience or strong desire to gain courtroom experience
- Excellent writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities

Compensation
Total compensation is commensurate with experience. The total compensation package for this role includes a base salary plus a variable commission structure. Earnings are directly linked to performance metrics and goals.
