Glimmer Café is looking for an experienced, friendly, and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a key role in creating an exceptional café experience through warm hospitality, efficiency, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
- Welcome every guest with a warm smile and provide exceptional customer service.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders using the Toast POS system.
- Process cash, credit card, and mobile payments accurately and efficiently.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, dietary options, and daily specials, so you can confidently answer guest questions and make recommendations.
- Guide guests through the menu and make thoughtful recommendations based on their preferences.
- Upsell beverages, pastries, and featured menu items when appropriate.
- Serve pastries immediately after they are ordered so guests receive them before leaving the register.
- Package to-go orders carefully and ensure every order is complete and accurate.
- Explain the guest pager system and ensure guests understand how it works.
- Keep the cashier station clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout each shift.
- Restock pastries, beverages, retail items, and front-of-house supplies as needed.
- Assist with wiping tables, maintaining the dining area, and supporting the front-of-house team during slower periods.
- Communicate effectively with baristas and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Follow all company policies and food safety and sanitation standards.
Qualifications
- Previous cashier experience is required.
- Previous café, coffee shop, or restaurant experience is strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service and hospitality mindset.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills and confidence handling cash and card transactions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and professionalism.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Availability to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
