A Surgical Inventory Specialist manages the supply chain for surgical services, ensuring required instruments, implants, and sterile supplies are available in Operating Room (OR) suites. They maintain optimal inventory levels, conduct audits, and manage expiring stock to reduce waste and optimize costs.
Duties And Responsibilities
A Surgical Inventory Specialist manages the supply chain for surgical services, ensuring required instruments, implants, and sterile supplies are available in Operating Room (OR) suites. They maintain optimal inventory levels, conduct audits, and manage expiring stock to reduce waste and optimize costs.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Inspect all stock received for damage and follows department policies and procedures for damaged, missing or incorrect supplies.
- Rotates old stock, pulls expired and discards, reports any expired or discarded items to CS manager.
- Maintains the cleanliness of warehouse and floor and loading dock and maintains proper trash disposal.
- Fill and deliver orders from all departments within 24 hours, removing all supplies from boxes prior to delivery.
- Accurately receives all incoming freight at the time of delivery. Prepare internal receiving form for anything delivered without a packing slip.
- Documents any discrepancies and follows up daily with buyer or any other appropriate department personnel.
- Monitor Temp control for accuracy room temperature.
- All other duties as assigned
- 2 years' experience in a similar position.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
