Primary Function
The Resort Maintenance and Security position performs tasks that ensure the safety and upkeep of Glenwood Hot Springs Resort, including maintaining the facilities, equipment, and grounds and ensuring security for guests and employees. This position completes regular patrols of the Resort and responds to, documents, and properly communicates security incidents. Additionally, the Resort Maintenance and Security position will appropriately respond to after-hours guest requests for assistance.
Reporting and Accountability
The Resort Maintenance and Security position reports to and is accountable to the Facilities Manager and Assistant Facilities Manager, and may also take direction from the Resort Hotel Manager.
Authority
The Resort Maintenance and Security position has the authority necessary to carry out the responsibilities and tasks described in this job description and other responsibilities of the Resort, as assigned by the Facilities Manager and Resort Hotel Manager.
Physical Requirements
- Adequate physical agility to perform normal maintenance activities such as climbing ladders, kneeling, reaching, lifting, bending, twisting, stooping, using hand tools and power tools, etc.
- Basic mechanical ability and dexterity.
- Ability to push, pull, carry and lift 45 pounds.
- Ability to navigate the Resort facilities, including climbing stairs.
- Current and valid Colorado driver’s license with excellent driving record
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and follow verbal or written instructions in English.
Educational Requirements
- 4 years basic High School
Other Requirements
- Maintenance experience in plumbing, electrical, construction, and general maintenance is preferred.
- Adequate computer skills to be able to perform necessary department computer tasks (for example, logging maintenance activities, inputting preventative maintenance and service information, etc.)
- Two years’ experience in facility maintenance, preferred.
Work Hours and Days
The Resort Maintenance and Security person works overnight (3rd shift), typically between the hours of 10:30PM-7:00AM. Weekends and holidays are required.
