Team Impact In this role, you will have the opportunity to work under the direction of a Registered Nurse, performing all aspects of first-level patient care and assuming responsibility for maintenance of all emergency equipment supplies within the ED. Applicants who have a background as an EMT or CNA are well suited for this role How You Will Fulfill Your Potential Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living as required to promote hygiene, comfort, nutritional intake, and safety as indicated in plan of care Assist patients with mobility through such activities as ambulating, use of assistive devices, positioning, transferring, ROM, and others as indicated by individual plan of care Accurately obtains and documents vital signs and measurements related to patient care Performing specimen collection and obtaining EKG Assist and support routine unit-specific procedures and treatments related to patient care Support all aspects of ensuring patient safety including detailed observation and reporting Serve as a communicator with patients, family members, and staff to optimize quality care Qualifications/Experience Education/Accredited Programs High school graduate or GED required Associates degree or higher preferred Healthcare specific technical diploma highly preferred Experience/abilities Hands on, patient facing experience in a hospital setting strongly preferred Experience equivalent to 100 hours of patient care experience strongly preferred Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy and physiology preferred Licenses/Certificates/Registrations: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required; can be obtained after hire Certified Nurse Assistant certification preferred. EMT highly preferred Skills/Abilities Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing Customer service skills consistent with organizational mission and values Ability to follow directions; perform routine responsibilities in a flexible, self-directed manner Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as, instructions, policies, procedures Ability to use math skills to compute/interpret figures related to patient care De-escalation training annually after hire Salary Range The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $18.50 to $27.75 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
