Varsity Girls Basketball Assitant Coach

• Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship.
• Adhere to injury procedures established by the Glens Falls Athletic Department.
• Ensure that all coaches work together toward a common goal within their respected programs.
• Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate students' athletic abilities on a regular basis(i.e. statistics, challenge matches etc.). Advise students and parents on the athletic code of conduct and the consequences of violation of the code.
• Train and inform staff and encourage professional growth by promoting clinic attendance.
• Take all necessary precautions to protect student athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation.l
• Work with the athletic department to schedule competitions and coordinate arrangements (i.e. facilities, busing, camps, special events, etc.) Annually establish and meet performance goals.
• Accompany and supervise student athletes during athletic competitions in assigned sports on out-of town trips.
• Apply and enforce student discipline during athletic contests, and encourage sportsman conduct in all phases of athletic participation. Maintain inventory of all uniforms and equipment within the program.
• Establish and maintain open, professional and respectful communications with students, parents, teachers, youth coaches and the athletic director.

Coaching Requirements:

• Valid NYS Fingerprinting Clearance

• Up-to-date First-Aid, CPR, and AED Certification

• Concussion Training

• DASA & CAR/SAVE Training

• Valid NYS Coaching Certification (can be obtained simultaneously)
