Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated maintenance technician to perform general maintenance tasks. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable navigating a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities:

• Handling basic repairs
• Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary
• Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them
• Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary
• Patching drywall and painting apartments
• Basic plumbing and electrical skills
• General HVAC knowledge
• Completing work orders
• Landscaping/grounds as needed

Responsibilities may include:

• Transport, install and connect stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, and other electrical and gas appliances
• Load and unload trucks and other conveyances; move supplies and materials to the proper location by wheelbarrows; collect refuse and salvageable materials
• Transport equipment, furnishings, and appliances to job sites
• Repair and fabricate window and door screens and frames
• Remove and repair damaged drywall
• Operate power blowers or use shovels to clean sidewalks, and driveways of leaves and debris

Position requirements:

• Knowledge of basic maintenance required
• Understand, read and write to follow basic instructions, take direction from supervisors, respond to routine questions and communicate effectively with tenants and property managers

Travel:

• As part of the job responsibilities, this position requires the willingness and ability to conduct local travel as needed. This may involve running errands related to business operations and fulfilling various tasks that contribute to the smooth functioning of the property needs. The extent and frequency of travel will depend on the specific demands of the job and may vary over time.
• This job will encompass a 40-minute radius of the Springfield, MO area in the Dallas and Polk Counties.

Physical requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing and walking
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must be able to traverse a variety of properties with stairs and in a variety of weather
• Must be dependable and able to meet scheduling requirements
• Professional appearance and demeanor, required

Other requirements:

• Pass a criminal background check
• Have reliable transportation

Schedule requirements:

Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm Properties located in Polk and Dallas Counties (Within 40 Minutes of Springfield, MO)

Pay: $ $21.00 per hour
