What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clam Farm Worker position at Glenn Shellfish?
Overview
Local clam farm/ marine operation seeking a reliable, physically capable worker for a shellfish farm. This is a physically hard job, some days are longer than others and require early mornings.
This role requires someone that is comfortable working on a boat and working in waste deep water. This role starts at 3-5 days a week but will progress to 5-6 days a week as we move into the spring/ summer season.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the planting, harvesting, maintaining, and processing of clams in accordance with farm protocols.
- Building and assembling gear related to clam farming.
- Preparing equipment.
- Yard and work organization and clean up.
- Assisting with general clam farm preparation tasks.
Experience
Relevant experience preferred. Previous experience in commercial fishing, or outdoor work is helpful but not required. Mechanical knowledge is preferred but not required.
