Duties
- Stock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure a clean, appealing shopping environment
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately for cashiering transactions
- Assist customers with product demos and answer questions about store items
- Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with precision
- Upsell products and promote special offers to enhance customer purchases
- Maintain proper merchandising standards to highlight featured products and sales
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers, answering inquiries, and offering assistance using effective communication skills
- Manage phone etiquette when responding to customer calls or inquiries
- Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits of items on display
- Support inventory management through stocking, inventory checks, and product replenishment
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery or similar stores
- Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures
- Supervising experience is a plus for leadership opportunities within the team
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Strong communication skills with a friendly, professional phone etiquette
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction accuracy
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and stock management practices
- Demonstrated ability to upsell products and increase sales through proactive customer engagement
- Experience in grocery stores or retail environments is advantageous but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential
