Job Overview
Join our family owned business as an Electrician Helper and be a vital part of electrical installation, maintenance, and repair projects for residential and commercial customers. This position will not only be responsible for conducting electrical work but will also be crossed trained into HVAC maintenance and repair. You will be working with both low and high voltage systems, reading schematics, and using essential hand and power tools.
Responsibilities
Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems for residential and commercial customers. Support the setup and operation of electrical equipment, including power tools and ohmmeters for testing circuits. Help interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate wiring and installation. Handle basic tasks such as pulling wire, installing conduit, and setting fixtures. Ensure compliance with safety standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code) regulations and proper handling of low and high voltage systems. Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly storing tools like screwdrivers, pliers, drills, and other hand tools. Participate in site inspections to verify wiring integrity, troubleshoot issues using electrical experience, and assist in troubleshooting circuits.
Skills
Would prefer someone with at least 5 years experience in the electrical field. Previous experience working as an electrician helper or apprentice in commercial settings is highly desirable. Applicant must be able to work independently to maintain their schedule and complete all work order and job notes. Proficiency with hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, and levels; familiarity with power tools is a plus. Knowledge of electrical systems including low voltage wiring, high voltage circuits, schematics, and blueprints reading. Ability to operate testing equipment like ohmmeters for circuit troubleshooting. Familiarity with NEC standards for electrical installations ensures safe practices on all projects. Strong teamwork skills combined with the ability to follow detailed instructions from licensed electricians or supervisors.
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
