JOB SUMMARY:The Buyer I supports the purchasing function by executing purchase orders, managing routine material requisitions, and coordinating with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies. This entry-level role focuses on transactional buying and supporting production through accurate procurement of raw materials, hardware, laminates, veneers, and other millwork components.ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:• Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders in accordance with company policies.• Obtain quotes from approved suppliers and compare pricing, lead times, and delivery terms.• Maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP system (e.g., Epicor, JobBoss, or similar).• Track order confirmations, delivery schedules, and resolve discrepancies.• Communicate with Production and Engineering regarding delivery schedules and substitutions.• Support Materials Department with vendor follow-up, expediting, and documentation.• Maintain accurate purchasing and vendor records.• Assist with inventory control and cycle counting activities. While this position is largely a sedentary role, the employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, as well as reach with hands and arms.
