Role Description

Glenloch Legal is seeking a full-time hybrid Paralegal to join our thriving estate planning and business transactional practice. We are a busy, growing transactional law practice in Winchester, Virginia, serving the immediate and surrounding areas in the Shenandoah Valley and Northern Virginia. We serve individuals and families as well as acting as outside counsel for many local small businesses. The successful candidate will play a key supporting role in drafting legal documents, meeting with clients, assisting with estate planning and business transactional matters, conducting research, organizing client files, and collaborating with attorneys to deliver high-quality legal services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and review estate planning documents under attorney supervision, including wills, living trusts, powers of attorney, advance medical directives, and related family business documents, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist attorneys with advanced estate planning matters, including research on asset protection strategies and business succession planning.
  • Prepare, organize, and review a wide array of business contracts and agreements under attorney supervision, such as purchase and sale agreements, operating agreements, bylaws, commercial leases, shareholder agreements, employment agreements, and independent contractor agreements.
  • Support client communications by preparing correspondence, summarizing documents, and helping attorneys explain complex legal concepts in clear, accessible terms.
  • Contribute to the firm’s knowledge management initiatives by developing and maintaining standardized templates, checklists, forms, and best practices for estate planning and business transactional matters.
  • Conduct legal research, organize client files, and assist with due diligence in business transactions.
  • Participate in business development activities, including helping prepare materials for client seminars and networking events.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program.
  • Strong proficiency in document drafting, legal research, and file management, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify potential issues for attorney review.
  • Strong organizational skills and the capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Unwavering commitment to providing exceptional client service and upholding the highest ethical standards of the legal profession.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, document management systems, and legal research tools.
