Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist

Glendive Public Schools is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and organized Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist to join our district team. The Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist Will

• Begin with primary responsibility for Accounts Payable, with training and a planned transition into increasing Payroll responsibilities
• Review, process, and pay authorized invoices while ensuring timely entry into automated systems
• Maintain accurate vendor files and respond to vendor payment inquiries
• Process payroll data for all school district employees and maintain accurate, up-to-date payroll records
• Prepare, verify, and distribute payroll and other authorized checks
• Balance payroll and withholding accounts
• Maintain confidentiality of employee and student information
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Business Manager to support an efficient and effective work environment
  
  

What We're Looking For

• An Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Management or
• A High School Diploma or equivalent education with at least three years of accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll experience
• Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Applications, and Adobe
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to manage multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work effectively under time constraints
• The ability to handle telephone calls and personal contacts with tact, diplomacy, and discretion
• The ability to interpret and analyze data and effectively communicate information
• A proactive attitude and a desire to create a positive experience for others
• The ability to maintain confidentiality of employment and student matters
