Job Summary

Job Summary

The Special Education Mentor Teacher plays a critical role in developing future Education Specialists through the Glendale Unified School District (GUSD) - Loyola Marymount University (LMU) Teacher Residency Program. Mentor teachers provide structured coaching, modeling, and supervision to resident teachers while supporting high-quality instructional practices, inclusive services, and compliance with special education standards. Resident teachers are paired with a mentor teacher and participate in clinical practice within the mentor teacher's classroom three days per week (Tuesday–Thursday). This role is essential in building district capacity, strengthening special education services, and preparing skilled Education Specialists aligned to GUSD priorities, LMU's social justice mission, and state credentialing standards. ***CLICK THE RED BUTTON ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE PAGE TO LEAVE EDJOIN AND BEGIN YOUR APPLICATION IN GLENDALE'S RECRUITING AND HIRING SYSTEM.
