Description
Performs a variety of instructional and support tasks assisting teachers and staff in classroom settings and in before- and after-school programs operated by the Child Development and Child Care (CDCC) Department.

VACANCIES: Various opportunities exist for permanent and substitute assignments. Positions are 9.25 or 12 months per year. Work hours range from 3 to 6 hours per day for in-classroom and after-school programs. Assignments may be in any part of the district boundaries (Glendale, La Crescenta or Montrose).

Examples of Duties

Assists students with academic tasks such as reading, writing, math, and other instructional activities.
Provides individual and small group supervision and support under the direction of certificated staff.
Assists in preparing and organizing instructional and enrichment activities in both classroom and afterschool settings.
Supervises students during activities, meals, recreational time, and field trips.
Assists in setting up and cleaning up classroom or program spaces.Supports students with special needs, including those with learning or behavioral challenges, under the direction of a specialist.
Prepares materials for displays, activities, and instructional use.
Administers, scores, and records student work and assessments as directed.
Performs related clerical duties including maintaining student files and operating audiovisual and office equipment.
Assists in serving meals and snacks and supports routines such as napping (when applicable in early education or CDCC settings).
