- Completes patient assessments competently. Assesses for and identifies needs of unit-specific patient population: Assesses for and identifies any physical, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, discharge and cultural needs.
- Completes an individualized plan of care based on assessment of the patient. Coordinates with other disciplines when indicated. Prioritizes care needs and sets measurable goals and time frames. Includes patient and family in the planning.
- Implements interventions based on nursing and medical plan of care. Manages patient population, diagnosis and age specific needs through appropriate adaptation of interventions. Appropriately utilizes equipment and supplies (including following established policies, procedures and protocols governing the transport, handling and storage of intravenous fluids).
- After implementation, reassesses the patient to verify effectiveness of interventions. Updates the plan of care to reflect current care needs.Demonstrates the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients condition (i.e.. LOC change, vital signs, test results)in a timely and clinically appropriate manner.
- Uses SBAR to notify physicians and other providers of clinical findings. Follow policies and procedures for contacting physician regarding critical values. Uses appropriate resources and follows chain of command. Recognizes limits of scope of practice.
- Assesses situations and seeks critical information to make decisions. Implements solutions while reviewing and monitoring effects. Re-evaluates decisions and makes corrective actions when indicated.
- Recognizes changes in the stability of a patients condition and provides appropriate interventions. Uses information from multiple sources to collaborate, negotiate, coordinate, delegate and evaluate care delivery.
- Participates in ongoing education. Participates in the development of others through mentoring and precepting activities. Uses negotiation and conflict management strategies.
We are not currently accepting new graduate or new to speciality applications. Our next posting period will be July 1, 2026 for an October 16, 2026 start date. Positions can be found under National Resident RN (<12 months experience as an RN) or RN Transition/Fellowship (>12 months experience as an RN.
