We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Activity Assistant to join our team! As an Activities Assistant, you will play a key role in enriching the lives of our residents by helping to plan, organize, and lead engaging recreational and therapeutic programs within our facility. The ideal Activity Assistant is creative, patient, and dedicated to promoting social interaction, physical well-being, and overall happiness among our residents.
Activity Assistant Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist in planning, scheduling, and implementing daily, weekly, and monthly activity programs for residents.
Lead or co-lead group and individual activities such as games, crafts, music, outings, and special events.
Encourage resident participation and adapt activities to meet individual needs and preferences.
Help decorate and maintain the activity areas to create a welcoming and stimulating environment.
Maintain attendance records, supply inventory, and assist with documentation as directed by the Activities Director.
Escort residents to and from activities and provide friendly companionship throughout programs.
Collaborate with other departments to promote resident engagement and community spirit.
Activity Assistant Qualifications:
Previous experience as an Activity Assistant, recreation aide, or in a similar role preferred (especially in a healthcare or senior living setting).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a warm and caring demeanor.
Ability to motivate and engage residents of varying abilities.
Creative mindset and willingness to adapt programs as needed.
Must be dependable, organized, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
