Glen Urquhart School (GUS), is an independent, coeducational day school for students in Pre-K through grade eight. Located 45 minutes north of Boston in Beverly Farms, GUS was founded in 1977 with an experiential, place-based philosophy that integrates all subjects and creates opportunities for students to be passionate in their pursuit of knowledge.
The Position: For SY 2026-2027 - The part time Spanish teacher is a dedicated educator who guides students in exploring the Spanish language and culture through engaging and meaningful lessons. We seek a dynamic and flexible individual who loves teaching and understands how to engage middle school students in the acquisition of a world language. Building on Glen Urquhart’s existing world languages program, this teacher will teach a combination of upper elementary grades (3-6) totalling 40% time (0.4 FTE). The GUS curriculum is thematic and interdisciplinary, which requires collaboration across grades and academic disciplines. The School’s world language program is culture-based and emphasizes language, both spoken and written. This is a part-time position, but hours are negotiable.

Key Responsibilities, include but are not limited to: As an independent day school, we expect teachers to become involved in the life of the school. Beyond classroom work, teachers attend weekly school meetings, school functions, and community events. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the mission, philosophy, and core values of the School
- Demonstrating academic excellence through a working knowledge of GUS’s core curriculum
- Maintaining and updating curriculum using school's curriculum mapping program
- Delivering appropriate materials, lessons, and regular assessments of students in upper elementary grades using a variety of teaching strategies
- Effectively using academic technology to enhance instruction
- Issuing grades and comments for students in a timely manner
- Participating in the Faculty Evaluation Program
- Participating in parent conferences and communicating with parents regularly
- Attending all required meetings of the faculty
- The position requires the ability to teach Spanish
- A bachelor’s degree in Spanish or a related field and native or near-native fluency in Spanish
- A master’s degree in Spanish or in education
- 3-5 years teaching experience
Salary : $18,000 - $28,000
