Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize case files for unemployment hearings, employee investigations, and HR compliance matters.
- Draft letters, statements, and supporting documents under direction of HR and outside counsel.
- Review and organize evidence such as schedules, write-ups, reports, and witness notes.
- Create timelines, investigation summaries, and case narratives.
- Assist with maintaining legally compliant HR documentation.
- Support attorney communication and document preparation as requested.
- Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- 5 years of paralegal or legal assistant experience (employment law preferred).
- Strong understanding of California documentation standards and HR case preparation.
- Excellent writing, organization, and file-management skills.
- Ability to work independently as a 1099 contractor.
- High level of confidentiality and attention to detail.
- Paralegal certificate preferred but not required if experience is strong.
