Base Pay: $31.00-$40.40 per hour (based on experience)

Glen Haven Health & Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) Staff Development Coordinator to lead the education, training, and professional development of our nursing team.
As the RN Staff Development Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our clinical staff receive the education, support, and ongoing training needed to deliver exceptional resident care. This leadership position works closely with nursing leadership to coordinate orientation, competency evaluations, regulatory education, and continuing professional development while promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
RN Staff Development Coordinator Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee orientation for all newly hired nursing staff.
- Develop and conduct education programs for Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
- Maintain training records and ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility requirements.
- Perform skills validations and competency assessments.
- Identify educational needs and implement ongoing staff development initiatives.
- Assist with infection prevention education and quality improvement programs.
- Support survey readiness and regulatory compliance efforts.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and nursing leadership to improve clinical outcomes.
- Mentor and coach nursing staff to promote professional growth and high-quality resident care.
- Stay current on healthcare regulations, evidence-based practices, and clinical standards.
Qualifications
- Current Alabama Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Scheduling experience strongly preferred.
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or post-acute care preferred.
- Previous experience in staff development, education, leadership, or nursing supervision is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations.
- Excellent communication, organization, teaching, and leadership skills.
- Passion for mentoring others and promoting clinical excellence.
