What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temp Custodian Associate (morning shift) position at Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club?
We are currently looking for a Part Time - Custodian Associate at Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club.
This position would be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the building in which they work by performing various cleaning duties. Complete maintenance and cleaning of facility (interior and exterior), removing debris, and keeping areas neat and tidy. Painting and other tasks as necessary.
Compensation: $20/hour
Hours: Monday - Friday, from 7am-11am
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Appropriate use of cleaning materials/supplies
- Clean windows, glass partitions and mirrors
- Clean, polish and disinfect areas within the Club and kitchen equipment
- Sweep, vacuum daily. Mop/buff floors, steam clean/shampoo carpets, as necessary
- Clean and service bathrooms with mops and disinfectants.
- Organize and maintain the Supply & Maintenance area (slop sink closet etc.)
- Weed outside the building and apply pesticides; shovel and apply salt and sand as necessary
- Identify and report possible repairs, plumbing leaks to supervisor in a timely manner
- Cleanliness to prevent insect and rodent infestation.
- Identify and minimize risks in Club’s physical environment as it relates to Health & Safety.
- Ensure adherence to appropriate safety procedures
- Additional responsibilities as requested.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have reliable transportation
- 2 years janitorial/custodian experience
- Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery used in cleaning
- Ability to walk, bend, push, pull and lift repetitively during working hours
- Self-motivation and the ability to identify and complete needed tasks without direct supervision.
- Must be able to work in different temperatures (indoor/outdoor)
