This is the role for you! The Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club is looking for energetic, caring, and responsible team member to join our after-school staff as a Media Assistant. This position will be responsible for effectively communicating and highlighting the after-school programs and events for our youth and teens.
- Social Media Management: Create, post and monitor social media content aligned with program activities and goals on social media platforms such our website, Instagram, Facebook, etc. Engage with audiences and respond to messages and comments professionally.
- Content Creation & Visual Media: Capture high-quality photos and videos of youth programs, events and daily activities. Design flyers, graphics and digital content.
- Website & Press Communications: Update program-related pages on the Club website. Responsible for press releases, newsletter content and other public-facing communications.
Requirements
- Some College, associate or bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Media or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in social media management, content creation or communications – preferable in a youth, nonprofit or community-based setting
- Understanding of major social media platforms
- Ability to take qualify photos and videos, experience with tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite
- Clear, concise writing skills for social media captions, press releases, newsletters and other public-facing content
- Must be creative, resourceful and versatile
Days & Hours Required This is a year-round position, with part-time hours.
Schedule based on the needs of the program.
- September - June: Tuesday and Friday 2:30pm-6:30pm, with potential for additional hours.
- July - August: Flexible up to 4 hours, 2 days/weekly between 10am-4:00pm.
