What are the responsibilities and job description for the DSP (Direct Support Professional) position at Glen Brook, Inc.?
Positions Available:
Part-time evening (including weekends)
Part-time midnight (including weekends) ($1.00 incentive for midnights)
Full-time midnight (including weekends)
Weekends have .50 extra/ per hour incentive
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications and monitor vital signs as needed
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times
- Promote and uphold resident rights and dignity
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding if necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
- Document and report any changes in residents' condition or behavior
Skills:
- Strong patient care skills, including the ability to provide compassionate care to individuals with disabilities or special needs
- Ability to lift heavy objects or individuals when necessary
- Knowledge of resident rights and the ability to advocate for them
- Excellent cleanliness and hygiene practices
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred
- Proficient in taking vital signs and monitoring health conditions

Pay: $18.00 - $18.50 per hour
