Glen Arden is seeking a professional, compassionate, and reliable Per Diem Transport Driver to join our team. As a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), we are dedicated to providing our residents with safe and comfortable access to medical appointments, off-site activities, and essential errands.
This is a flexible, as-needed role perfect for those who enjoy driving and interacting with seniors in a meaningful way.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe Transportation: Provide door-through-door assistance for residents traveling to and from medical consultations, hospitals, and community outings.
- Vehicle Safety: Perform routine pre-trip inspections of facility vehicles (vans, sedans, or wheelchair-accessible buses) to ensure safety and cleanliness.
- Assistance: Help residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including the securement of wheelchairs and mobility aids.
- Communication: Maintain clear schedules and coordinate closely with the nursing and activities departments to ensure timely arrivals.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in patient transport, senior care, or professional driving is preferred.
- License: A valid NY State Driver’s License with a clean driving record (no major infractions within the last 3 years).
- Skills: Exceptional patience, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to remain calm in traffic or changing schedules.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to assist residents with limited mobility and lift/maneuver mobility equipment as needed.
