Gleason Dental Clinic is excited to announce we are searching for a chairside Dental Assistant. Gleason Dental Clinic has been providing high quality dental care for Beatrice and the surrounding area for almost 60 years!! We are seeking an outgoing, motivated candidate who enjoys working with a fantastic team to deliver the highest quality of dental care from a state-of-the-art dental facility.

  • 36 hour work week with Friday afternoons off
  • $20 /hour pay, depending on experience
  • 12 days vacation, with ability to earn more, plus 7 paid holidays and birthday
  • 401K with employer contribution
  • Dental Assisting degree, coronal polishing certification, radiology certification, and previous chairside Dental Assisting experience preferred, but not required.

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Chairside Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will work closely alongside dentists to provide exceptional patient care, assist during various dental procedures, and ensure the smooth operation of daily clinical activities. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to creating a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and cared for. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting focused on general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, and specialized procedures such as oral surgery and endodontics.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, materials, and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use in accordance with infection prevention management protocols.
  • Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorations, extractions, prosthodontics, and oral surgeries by handing instruments and managing patient comfort.
  • Take high-quality dental x-rays and medical imaging while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA privacy regulations and radiation safety standards.
  • Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; document treatment details accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform dental instrument processing including sterilization procedures following aseptic techniques to ensure clinical safety and compliance with infection control policies.
  • Monitor vital signs of patients when necessary and assist in managing patient care from check-in through post-treatment instructions.
  • Support the dental reception team by managing appointment scheduling, patient management software, and ensuring seamless patient flow within the clinic.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a dental assistant with knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and clinical procedures.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; experience with medical documentation and coding is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards.
  • Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety guidelines.
  • Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and familiarity with pediatric patient management is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages.
  • Certification in dental assisting or equivalent training; familiarity with four-handed dentistry techniques is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry including oral structures and medical terminology related to dentistry and oral surgery.
